| What
is a spica cast? |
| A
spica cast (also called a hip spica cast or body
cast) immobilizes the hips and thighs so that bones
or tendons can heal properly. It's usually put
on in surgery while the child is sleeping. |
| This
web site is designed to assist parents of children
in spica casts with suggestions from parents who
have experience with a child in this type of cast. |
| We
offer tips and suggestions to make your next several
months as comfortable and easy as possible. |
| These
are ideas, and tricks that we came up with to make
our lives and that of our daughters easier. |
| We
hope these suggestions are helpful if you find
yourself in the situation of your child needing
to be in a Spica Cast. |
|
|
| What to expect? |
 |
 |
| Unfortunately we spent an unexpected
week in traction to further assist the surgical procedure. |

is willing to sell this seat post cast, so contact
her at velouria789@yahoo.com directly in the fall if
